Patient experience is increasingly a priority for healthcare provider leaders. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality defines the patient experience as the set of interactions that patients have with the healthcare system, including interactions with health plans and physician care, nurses and support staff. Patients’ experiences with technology are a critical part of the full set of interactions that increase or decrease their satisfaction, the quality of care they receive, and their ability to build trust with providers.
